WINDSOR AUTO SALES “RACE FOR HUNGER” EXCEEDS DONATION GOAL.
(Loves Park, Illinois, 61111, August 31st, 2011) Windsor Auto Sales in Loves Park has hosted
several “Race for Hunger” fundraisers to support the Rock River Valley Food Pantry. Nick
Shutkas, owner of Windsor Auto Sales said: “This is our second year sponsoring events for
the Rock River Valley Food Pantry. Last year we raised $8,200, and this year we hoped to
make $10,000. The final tally after Windsor Night at the Rockford Speedway produced
$11,846.50. We were so thankful that the efforts of so many people and local businesses like:
Valli Produce, Logli’s, Artale Wine, Wupco Shell on Forest Hills, L & M Garage, Citizens
Finance, and Pro-Techs Dealer Services really paid off. Windsor Music Night at the Sinnissippi
Park Music Shell, and a comedy night at Neighbors Bar and Grill were new this year.”
The Rock River Valley Food Pantry served over 1.5 Million pounds of food to the people in
Rockford last year. Kim Adams-Bakke, Executive Director of the Food Pantry said: “The Food
Pantry is serving over 7000 people a month, and 40% of our clients are children. Windsor
Auto Sales has become a tremendous partner in helping feed Rockford, one meal at a time.”
